Free Five Elements Calculator

Count the Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water across all eight characters of your bazi / saju chart. Free, instant, no signup.

Five elements is half the picture.

The count tells you what you have. It does not tell you which element carries you and which drains you — that depends on your Day Master and the year you are standing in. The free reading walks through both.

What does the count mean?

Eight characters, five elements. An element you have a lot of tends to describe how you move through the world by default. An element you have none of is the one Korean readers pay the most attention to — it usually marks what you keep reaching for.

Is more always better?

No. A chart stacked with one element is read as strong but narrow. Balance is not the goal either; what matters is which element supports the Day Master and which drains it.

Why does the year change on February 4th?

Saju follows the solar terms, not the lunar new year and not January 1st. The year turns at 입춘 (start of spring), which falls on or around February 4th. If you were born in January or early February, your saju year is the previous one — this calculator handles that.
